Pretrip Inspection – you must be able to point to or touch the items you are inspecting and fully explain what you are looking for on each item.

Basic Vehicle Control – you must be able to move the vehicle forward, backward and turn it within a specified area. These areas may be marked by cones, barriers or traffic lanes.

Road Test – you must be able to safely operate the vehicle in various traffic situations. These situations may include completing left or right turns, railroad crossings, downgrades and intersections.
